Privacy policy
1. Scope
This policy describes how Janover Capital LLC ("Janover Capital", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information in connection with cre.events (CRE Events, the "Site"), which Janover Capital operates. It applies to this Site only. The event organizers we list and other sites we link to have their own privacy practices. By using the Site you agree to this policy and to our Terms of use.
2. Information we collect
Browsing the calendar. The calendar, its filters, the event pages, the .ics calendar files and the CSV and JSON downloads send nothing about you to us beyond the ordinary page requests described below. The filters run in your browser.
The contact form (contact page and advertise page) collects your name, email address, phone number if you add it, and your message.
The financing form (financing page) collects property type, state, city (optional), loan purpose, loan amount, purchase price or value, annual net operating income (optional), the lender type you lean toward, when you need to close, your name, your role, email address, phone number (optional) and any notes you add.
Sent with every form. The page you sent it from; the website that referred you and any campaign tags (utm codes) in the link you arrived by, which the Site keeps in your browser's session storage for that visit only; the text of the consent sentence shown next to the button; and a hidden spam-trap field that people never see.
Collected automatically. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type and the pages requested, to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse. The Site runs no analytics or advertising tools.
From other sources. If you ask us to arrange financing, we may later receive information about you or your deal from public records, lenders and transaction parties such as appraisers or title companies.
3. How we use information
To reply to you and handle what you asked for (a correction, a new event, a sponsorship question or a financing request); to evaluate, size and arrange financing you request; to communicate with you by email, phone and text as described in section 5; to operate, secure and improve the Site; to comply with law and legal process; to enforce our Terms; and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse. We may use aggregated or de-identified information, which doesn't identify you, for any lawful purpose.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Requests sent through the Site go to Janover Capital only. We share information as follows:
- Lenders and transaction parties, only at your direction or with your consent, to evaluate or close financing you asked us to arrange (for example lenders, appraisers, title companies and counsel).
- Service providers that run the Site for us: Cloudflare (hosting, and the database where form submissions are stored) and our email provider (which delivers your request to our team).
- Affiliates: affiliated Janover businesses, for the purposes in this policy.
- Professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants and insurers, as reasonably needed.
- Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena or legal process, or needed to enforce our agreements or protect the rights, property or safety of anyone.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of all or part of our business.
We do not pass your request to event organizers or sponsors.
5. Communications and your choices
If you give us contact details, we may contact you by email, phone and text about your request and our services. Consent to marketing messages isn't a condition of any service. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of texts, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us at (561) 559-4111 or hello@cre.events to change your preferences. We may still send non-promotional messages about an active request or transaction.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The Site sets no cookies. It keeps the referring site and any campaign tags in your browser's session storage for the current visit, so they can travel with a form if you send one; that storage clears when you close the tab. The Site does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals. Where the law requires, we honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control; as noted above, we don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Data retention
We keep information as long as reasonably needed for the purposes in this policy, including transaction records, legal, tax, accounting and regulatory requirements, disputes and enforcing agreements. Form submissions are stored in our Cloudflare database and deleted when no longer needed for your request or our records. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please don't send sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers or account credentials) through the Site's forms; if a transaction needs sensitive documents, we'll arrange a proper channel.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know or access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, get a portable copy, or opt out of certain processing. Much of what we handle relates to commercial transactions and may be exempt from some state privacy laws; we honor valid requests as the law requires. Contact us at hello@cre.events or (561) 559-4111 with your name, contact details and the request. We may need to verify your identity, and we won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authorization.
10. Children
The Site is a commercial real estate site for adults. It isn't directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Users outside the United States
The Site is operated from and intended for users in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to, stored in and processed in the United States.
12. Third-party links
Every event links to its organizer's website (for example the Mortgage Bankers Association, CRE Finance Council, ICSC, Nareit, NMHC and the other organizers listed), and the data page links to the Creative Commons license. This policy doesn't apply to those sites; read their policies directly.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the Site after posting means you accept it.
